How do I add a new client?
There a couple different ways to add a new client onto your ValuCompass dashboard yet both are straight-forward and easy.
The first thing you need to do to add a new client is to log into your dashboard. Now you need to decide is the business owner you plan to add a current client of yours or are they a potential prospect. Entering the owner into the system is no different though many advisors think about them differently and like to keep them separate. For all intensive purposes, we usually consider a paying customer a client. And many of our advisors will run the Discover Assessment for free, as a way to first engage with business owners and develop the relationship before introducing fees or engagement costs.
The other main difference you will notice is that Prospects on the dashboard do not get aggregated into the overall results for your yearly metrics at the top of the dashboard - where Clients do. At the same time, you can move a business owner from Prospect to Client at any time merely by changing this setting within their unique profile.
Another way to add a Prospect is to email them the Discover link. You can do this from the ValuCompass dashboard but we recommend sending the link from your own email account as this is seen as best practice and has a higher response rate.

How do I delete a client or prospect?
If you know how to "update" a client then deleting one is easy! This same process works for deleting prospects as well.
From your dashboard, click on the name of the client or prospect who you would like to remove from your dashboard. The truth is, we never delete any of our data - though you will be able to "delete" them from your dashboard view.
If you want to remove a business owner from your dashboard, you will need to find the client or prospect and click on their name. This will take you to the assessment page for that business owner. From here, click on the "update" button that appears under the business owner name. Do NOT click on the update button under the business name - this will only allow you to edit business details.
From the business owner details page, you will see a "Delete Business Owner" button in the lower right of your screen. Click this button and then click the "OK" to confirm. This action can NOT be undone (even though all the information for your business owner will continue to be stored in our system).
When you are finished, click the "Done" button to return to your dashboard where you will see that your client or prospect has been removed.

Enterprise Value
Enterprise value is the yardstick – and driver – of success, not simply a financial measure used when thinking of exiting. Thus, it must always be available to the owner, CEO or other company stakeholders. Second, for Enterprise Value to be useful, it has to be actionable – meaning it needs to be measured in such a way that business advisors and their client owners can use it to make decisions that make the company stronger. The idea that it embodies an engine and consists of gears is a critical analogy, as it focuses the user to measure (and consequently manage and monitor) each gear.
The 18 Value Driver framework was created for this exact purpose. The point of the 18 Value Drivers is to quantify and bring actionable transparency to the fingertips of the owner or CEO and other stakeholders. To achieve that, they need numbers and measures – and the measure that matters is dollars. Dollars are connected to the objective – increasing Enterprise Value. Anything short of that is simply qualitative and would miss the mark. On purpose, CoreValue has used algorithms and process engineering approaches, methods and measures to make this work. Then we tested, and continue to test, our methodologies against valuation methodologies, against real live data, and against data provided by the finest data sets available. There is nothing ad hoc about what we do.

Discover First
"86% of business owners want one-stop help to plan, execute, and grow!"
This is the most fundamental piece of data any advisor needs to understand. Business owners
both want and need your help. We have always called them “proud, successful hermits”
because they are so isolated from the help they want and need. How can that be possible?
Why do they not simply reach out to advisors?
Simple, advisors have the wrong conversation. Financial services businesses of all sizes, shapes and colors want to talk to owners about money . Accountants talk about taxes. Lawyers talk about contracts. The list goes on and on and on. Nobody is talking to owners about their number one concern: the business as they understand it.
DISCOVER FIRST changes all of that. Because you are talking to owners about the business the way they see it. You meet them where they are.
For example, if you want to open the door to a conversation with a grandparent, ask about the
grandkids and show you care.
"At the end of the day, every owner, every person, in fact, first wants to know you care. If you
care about what matters to them, they will open the door, and, ultimately, show that they care
about what matters to you."
DISCOVER FIRST and everything we have worked for and toward over the last four decades has
all been directed to helping Advisors open the door to private business owners. They are the heart and soul of our economy and our communities. If we help you help them, we all win.
Go build a great and valuable practice helping owners. We have your back. Our history is the
proof.
